I want something kind of cheap, it doesn't hold to have a huge memory card, in recent times something I can get in the region of 5-10 word or Power Point documents on, maybe a few pics occasionally. Thanks.

Agree Kingston or Sandisk would be my first choices. 5-10 word docs and a few pics would fit on a tiny flash drive (depending on the resolution of the pics of course). You can probably find by with a 128 or 256 Mb, deeply cheap.
stick with a mark brand...kingston or sandisk perhaps...
they are cheap.1 see = $30 or so
