cd drive error?

i put a disk on the drive piece but it wont come up what do i do?? it doesnt show up in computer any ive tried restarting it

first go to ur control panal double click supply hardware......follow the wizard from there.......if it finds it.....click start consequently right click on "my computer" click hardware then device principal then click the plus subsequent to "dvd cd rom drives.....look for ur cd rom in the schedule ..right click it....then click update drivers.......if adjectives fails...open out ur case to ur comp and manufacture sure that the cd rom has a ribbon plugged surrounded by and a power supply.......also check the jumpers....kind sure theres a jumber on the master post.....if its a second drive .....place it to slave.......Good luck recover data from the hard drive
