I enjoy a compaq Presario V2000 and lately whenever I try to write a cd or anything the cd drive just runs existing slow... I even had it start to run slow while listen to a CD what can raison d`¨otre this

Too many other applications running surrounded by the background. This could also be cause by a virus, you should run a virus scan. The cd - drive itself could be malfunctioning and this could be the first sign that it is dying.
It sounds like the drive is starting to go wrong.
And it's not a "lab top", it's a laptop or notebook.
