cannot defragment c drive..?

incentive due to error

c:\Windows\temp\tmp000000309e8...

how to fix it?

Answer:

delete that file manually and try defraging again.
defragment using this http://www.9down.com/story.php?sid=5555...
Reboot into past the worst mode, then defrag while surrounded by safe mode, it should work..
usually you can't defrag if database is running, like firewall, or antivirus within background, a temp report should not be in use, so find out what it is, afterwards move to trash, if it can not be moved ,may be spyware, also run scandisk error checker before defragmenting,

..
It's other better to delete all the stopgap and junk files up to that time defragging. Do a Disk Cleanup first (don't compress).

By the way, doing a defrag more than every 6 months (if ever) is a dribble away of time.
