can mac workstation used for design?

can i buy i a mac book. i approaching to install design softwares like ProE, Catia surrounded by the system. or should i buy a normal notebook for the purpose . which minute books are good surrounded by market

i am a designer using a notebook. and i am a mac hater. That is until i went to the store and the guy showed me its capability. They MAC may have impossible to tell apart specs as a pc but its operating system allows it to switch graphics better. The guy at the store opend like 20 programs at once. they adjectives opened contained by minutes, and no slowing down. I was amazed. i would say aloud go for a mac. 17inch is awsome, and core 2 duo is a great processor. (go for the 2ghz near 4mb cache).

macs are supposively recommended by designers, i however despite self taught on a mac prefer the notebook...but with the newer macs you can run both Operating Systems on it. So if you are really playing tug of period of war between yourself..get a mac.

or if you want more for the money...a laptop. with the unusual windows OS
